It is truly the end of an era, as the legendary Bollywood star said, Dharmendra dies at the age of 89 in Mumbai. Earlier this month, he was admitted to and released from British Candy Hospital where he has been responding to medications and care.

However, on November 24, an ambulance was seen leaving his house in the afternoon, and his family along with several industry members reached the Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu.The news of his death sent shock waves. Punjabi actor Gibby Grewalwho shared the screen with Dharmendra in two films – ‘Double Di Trouble’ and ‘Second Hand Husband’, took to his social media to write a warm tribute to the late star.

Sharing pictures from the sets of the film, Gippy Grewal wrote, “This is heartbreaking news to hear.

Dharam ji, you have always been one of the most genuine and knowledgeable souls I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Your kindness, wisdom and warmth left a lasting impact on everyone around you.”It is really hard to accept this sudden demise, as it feels like we have lost not only a great person, but also a great, handsome actor and guiding light. We will always remember you with great respect, love and gratitude,” he added.

“May your soul rest in eternal peace. Waheguru Mehar Kare,” the actor concluded.

Karan Johar He says it’s the end of an era

Director Karan Johar, who worked with Dharmendra in one of his recent films, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’, also wrote a touching tribute to the actor. He wrote in a long note, “It is the end of an era… a mega-star… the embodiment of the hero in mainstream cinema… incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic of screen presences… He was and always will be a legend of Indian cinema… richly defined and present in the pages of cinematic history… but mostly the finest human being… He was much loved by everyone in our industry….

He had nothing but immense love and positivity for everyone… We will miss his blessings, hugs and amazing warmth more than words can describe…. Late actor Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur and later to actress Hema Malini.
